Biographical Information

Catcher Yasushi Takeda was drafted by the Taiyo Whales in the 5th round of the 1982 NPB draft, and he hit .277/.333/.372 in 58 games for the Butte Copper Kings in 1987. He never reached the big club, and he announced his retirement in 1990. He then became a scout for the Yokohama BayStars and for the Yomiuri Giants, signing Kentaro Taira, Shosei Togo, Shunsuke Urata, Yuto Kohama and Shun Yamaguchi.
