Yasuhiro Yamamoto has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Yamamoto was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the5th round of the 2015 NPB draft, and he played 27 games with a .256/.275/.346 batting line in 2016. He slumped to .182/.289/.258 in 2017, and he hit .255/.350/.314 in 2018. When Naoki Yoshikawa was injured in 2019, Yamamoto shared the starting second baseman spot with Akihiro Wakabayashi, and he played 92 games with a .232/.340/.339 batting line. He was 0-for-3 in the 2019 Nippon Series, and he made a fatal error in the 7th inning of Game 4, causing the winning run. The Softbank Hawks swept the Giants. Yamamoto was placed in the minors for the entire 2020 season, and he was traded to the Hanshin Tigers for cash.
The Tokyo native played 69 games with a .186/.294/.256 batting line in 2021, and he improved to .249/.290/.304 in 86 games in 2022. However, he spent the entire 2023 season in the minors, and the Tigers released him. The Chunichi Dragons signed him, and Yamamoto had a .250/.312/.288 batting line in 2024.
