Biographical Information[edit]

Wenbin Xing represented the Chinese national team in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, saving his team from being no-hit by Australia's Brandan Bidois by getting their lone hit. He batted .320/.453/.360 with six walks and six runs in eight games, fielding .923 between all three outfield slots. He tied for 6th in event in walks and his three steals were tied for second (though 7 behind Ji-chan Kim!) He led China in OPS, runs and hits. [1] In the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he hit .176/.300/.176. [2]

He played for the Sichuan Dragons in the China Baseball League, and he was on China's roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. Xing was their starting left fielder against Germany, but he made crucial back-to-back errors in the 5th inning and China was mercy-ruled. He was 0 for 1 against Markus Solbach before being replaced by Nan Du. He was 0-for-2 in his other game, against Brazil. [3]
