Biographical Information[edit]
Wen-Hsien Cheng played in the CPBL for 3 years.
Cheng represented Taiwan in the 1987 Little League World Series (which they won), 1989 World Youth Championship and 1992 World Junior Championship. The Wei Chuan Dragons signed him in 1997, and he hit .234/.323/.361 in his rookie year. Cheng improved to .300/.451/.400 in 1998, and he was 0-for-5 in the 1998 Taiwan Series. The Dragons beat the Sinon Bulls in 7 games, and Cheng won his first Taiwan Series title. He was then traded to the Mercuries Tigers for Tzu-Chiang Huang, but he slumped to .214/.272/.300 in 1999. The Tigers was expelled after the 1999 season, and his professional career ended.
Overall, Cheng had hit .234/.320/.343 with 90 hits and 5 homers in 3 seasons in the CPBL.
