Biographical Information

Wataru Takamatsu has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Takamatsu was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 3rd round of the 2017 NPB draft, the scout was Akira Yonemura. He only got 2 at-bats in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2018, and he hit .278/.305/.292 there in 2019. Takamatsu also played 2 games for the top team, then he slumped to .188/.189/.229 in the minors in 2020. He finally got some chances in 2021, and he had a .250/.274/.259 batting line with 15 steals. He tied Seiya Matsubara for 5th in steals in the Central League, but he also led the league with 9 caught stealing. Takamatsu played 51 games for the top team in 2022, mainly as a pinch-runner, and he was 1-for-17 with 14 runs scored and 5 steals. The Dragons then traded him to the Seibu Lions for Seiji Kawagoe, and he only got one at-bat for them in 2023. He was 0-for-6 with 8 steals in 2024, and he collected 7 steals with a 1-for-17 record in 2025.
