Biographical Information[edit]
Walter E. Hapgood worked as a sports writer for the Worcester, MA Spy before he joined the Boston Herald. He was promoted to sports editor of the Herald after just three years. He later wrote for the Boston Transcipt. He accepted a position as the secretary and business manager of the Boston Braves.
He was also a part-owner of the Rochester Tribe until 1926 and general manager of the Montreal Royals until 1941 before founding and editing the Horsemen's News.
