Biographical Information[edit]
Vincent Temesvary has played for the Hungarian national team alongside brother Anthony Temesvary. [1] He is of Mexican-Hungarian ancestry. [2]
Temesvary played baseball and football in high school [3] then hit .229/.372/.286 as a back-up as a college freshman. As a sophomore, he improved to .385/.511/.701 with 49 runs and 49 RBI in 50 games. Transferring to Gonzaga, he batted .254/.388/.459 as a junior. Suiting up for Hungary in the 2024 European Championship Qualifier, he slashed .529/.600/1.059 with 9 runs and 9 RBI in 5 games, with 5 extra-base hits and 4 steals in 4 tries. Hungary easily won a spot in the 2025 European Championship. He was among the Serbia qualifier's leaders in runs (tied for 3rd with Bálint Piros), hits (tied Piros for 1st), doubles (3, 1st), homers (2, one behind Graeham Luttor), RBI (2nd, 2 behind Luttor), steals (tied for 4th), average (2nd, .034 behind Piros), slugging (2nd, .227 behind Luttor) and OBP (3rd, after Piros and Luttor). [4]
He slumped to .128/.289/.205 as a senior. He then suited up for Hungary in the 2025 European Championship. He got his first hit off Belgium's Kevin De Smedt, one of two homers he hit off De Smedt that day. He was at .364/.462/1.000 with 3 runs and 3 RBI in 4 games; he surprisingly did not lead the Hungarians in OPS as Luttor and Márkó Morua were higher. He tied for 4th in the tourney in homers, even with former major leaguer Jonathan Schoop among others. [5]
