Biographical Information[edit]

Vince LaCorte pitched in the minor leagues from 1999 to 2002, peaking at Single-A.

He was originally taken by the Cincinnati Reds in the 26th round of the 1998 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He did sign after being taken by the Los Angeles Angels in the 5th round of the 1999 amateur draft, a couple of picks after pitcher Josh Stewart. He never had a winning record, with his yearly lines being 2-6 W-L, 5.40 ERA, 5-7 W-L, 6.46 ERA, 3-10 W-L, 4.37 ERA and 2-4 W-L, 4.32 ERA, respectively. He pitched in the Baltimore Orioles system in his final campaign.

Overall, LaCorte went 12-27 with a 5.10 ERA in 84 games (33 starts). In 266 1/3 innings, he allowed 323 hits and 63 walks (1.449 WHIP), while striking out 196 batters.

His father, Frank LaCorte, pitched in the majors from 1975 to 1984. While he was born in Richmond, VA when his father was a AAA pitcher there, he grew up in Salinas, CA.
