Biographical Information[edit]

Being drafted out of Loyola High School in Los Angeles, CA, Vince Beringhele would forgo the 18th round selection 1980 Amateur Draft by the Kansas City Royals to play at UCLA. He would be the Bruins center fielder from 1981-1983. He would sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being selected in the 24th round of the 1983 Amateur Draft.

Beringhele would finish his 1983 campaign appearing in 70 games in rookie ball with the Lethbridge Dodgers where he had a .338 average and was tied for the league lead in hits with 94. His first full year in the Dodgers organization he would play in 124 games for the A-ball Vero Beach Dodgers where he slashed .256 with a .417 OBP and was named a Florida State League All Star. 1985 would see Beringhele split time between Vero Beach (42 games) and Bakersfield (47 games).

Following his professional career, Beringhele began his coaching career at University High School (Los Angeles) before taking an assistant coach position in 1988-1989 at Cal State LA. He would then join the UCLA coaching staff for the 1990 season. He would spend 15 seasons as an assistant where he held positions as recruiting coordinator and hitting coach. Following his tenure with the Bruins, Beringhele would join Frank Cruz at Loyola Marymount University in 2004 where he was promoted to associate head coach before the 2006 season.

In 2008 Beringhele would get a head coaching oppurtunity at Cal State LA where he has been leading the Golden Eagles to some success. As of 2026 he is still at Cal State LA.
