Biographical Information

Toshitaka Tameike was drafted by the Sankei Atoms in the 2nd round of the 1968 NPB draft, and he went 4-for-31 in his first season. He hit .167/.213/.258 in 60 games in 1970 (splitting third with Norifumi Kido), and he played 78 games with a .154/.222/.221 batting line in 1971. Tameike was then traded to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Katsukuni Yamada, but he only got 9 more at-bats for the big club before he announced his retirement in 1974.
