Biographical Information

Toshihiro Okita was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 2nd round of the 1970 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first seven seasons. He won the batting title of the Eastern League in 1976, and he played 33 games for the big club with a .231/.394/.385 batting line in 1978; he only had 34 plate appearances, backing up Kazumasa Kono at SS and Shozo Doi at 2B. The Giants then traded him to the Seibu Lions for Haruo Narishige, and he was 1-for-5 in 1980 then announced his retirement.
