Biographical Information[edit]
Tommy Everidge was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 10th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Scott Kidd and made his pro debut that summer. He slowly climbed the A's minor league ladder and made his major league debut in 2009. Everidge spent the 2010 season playing for three different organizations at the AAA level. He completed his playing career in 2012 with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League.
Everidge began his post-playing career as a hitting coach for the Sonoma Valley High School Dragons in 2013. He returned to the A's organization the following year. Everidge was the hitting coach for the Vermont Lake Monsters of the New York-Penn League for 2014-2015. He moved to the Stockton Ports of the California League in 2016-2017 and Midland Rockhounds in 2018-2019. Everidge was scheduled to return to Midland in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Everidge coached Las Vegas Aviators hitters in 2021. Under his guidance, the Aviators ranked third in team batting average (.277) and on-base percentage (.355) and second in OPS (.836) among Triple-A West clubs. In 2022, Everidge was promoted to hitting coach of the major league Athletics and he retained that position in 2023.
The Washington Nationals hired Everidge in 2024 to serve as their Minor League Hitting Coordinator. The Nationals released Everidge after the 2025 season amidst a broad restructuring of their minor league development system. Curiously, Everidge was listed as a hitting coach for the Wilmington Blue Rocks at the end of 2025. He moved to the San Francisco Giants' chain as hitting coach of the Richmond Flying Squirrels in 2026.
