Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Tom Nuneviller played in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 1990 to 1995. Though he reached Triple-A in 1994, he never ascended to the majors.

Prior to playing professionally, he was named an American Baseball Coaches Association Division I All-American outfielder in 1990, alongside Dennis McNamara and Mike Kelly. He was taken by Philadelphia in the 5th round of the 1990 amateur draft, between pitcher Shannon Withem and infielder Ray Durham, and ahead of future All-Star Bret Boone. He had three seasons of particular note, 1991, 1992 and 1994. In 1991, he hit .283/.360/.388 with 2 home runs, 54 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 124 games for the Clearwater Threshers. In 1992, he hit .303/.361/.436 with 4 home runs and 21 RBI in 47 games for the Reading Phillies; his performance prompted Baseball America to name him the #5 prospect in the Phillies chain going in 1993, between outfielder Chad McConnell and pitcher Ron Blazier. In 1994, he hit .263/.309/.379 with 7 home runs and 57 RBI in 129 games between two clubs, including a .259/.308/.350 line in 80 games in his first and only try at Triple-A.

Overall, he hit .262/.327/.373 with 24 home runs, 101 RBI and 45 stolen bases in 454 games over six seasons.
