Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder-outfielder Tom Knauss played in the Minnesota Twins system from 1992 to 1997, peaking at High-A.

He was taken by the Minnesota Twins in the second round of the 1992 amateur draft, a few picks after pitcher Mark Thompson and in the same round as Todd Helton and Jason Giambi. He reached double digits in home runs three times. In 1993, he had 10 dingers between the Elizabethton Twins and Fort Wayne Wizards, in 1994, he had 12 home runs for the Wizards and in 1996, he had 12 home runs between Fort Wayne and the Fort Myers Miracle. He was a low-average hitter, though he hit .300/.374/.507 in 56 games for Fort Wayne in 1996.

Overall, he hit .225/.303/.362 with 39 home runs and 211 RBI in 489 games over 6 seasons.
