Biographical Information[edit]
Third baseman Tom DeAngelis began his collegiate playing career at Marietta College before transferring to Seton Hill University for his final three seasons. He graduated in 2011 with a degree in Human Resources and then earned a Master's of Business Administration, Business Management from Seton Hill in 2014.
While at Seton Hill, DeAngelis served as a graduate assistant coach for the Griffins in 2013-2014 and was the primary hitting coach and infield instructor. DeAngelis helped lead the Griffins to two berths in the NCAA Division II Atlantic regionals, a Division II World Series appearance (2014) and a pair of top-10 national rankings. DeAngelis moved to Baldwin Wallace University for the 2014/2015 season as an assistant coach. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2022. In his time at Baldwin Wallace, the Yellow Jackets advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament four times, and reached the Division III College World Series in 2022. DeAngelis was also named the Division III Assistant Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2022.
The New York Yankees hired DeAngelis in 2023 as a FCL Yankees hitting coach. The team led the Florida Complex League in runs, hits, triples, RBIs, AVG, OBP, SLG and OPS. The Yankees promoted DeAngelis to hitting coach of the Tampa Tarpons in 2024. Under his guidance, the Tarpons ranked second in the Florida State League in AVG (.239), hits (982) and doubles (204), and fourth in OPS (.701).[1] DeAngelis received another promotion in 2025 to the Hudson Valley Renegades in the same coaching capacity.
DeAngelis moved to the Miami Marlins' chain as hitting coach of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in 2026.
