Biographical Information[edit]

Tom Bolton spent 7 years in the minors before getting a chance to play in the majors; he had been drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 20th round of the 1980 amateur draft so was not really considered a top prospect.

In 1990, Tom had a 6-1 record and a 1.99 ERA at Fenway Park. Overall, he went 10-5 with a 3.38 ERA in what was easily his best season. He also pitched a couple of times in relief in the ALCS against the Oakland Athletics that year; in 3 innings, he gave up 2 hits but no runs.

He threw a curveball, a change-up and a sinking fastball.
