Biographical Information[edit]

Tim Parker pitched in the Chicago Cubs system from 1990 to 1992, peaking at Double-A.

He was taken by the Cubs in the 3rd round of the 1990 amateur draft, one pick after outfielder Felipe Crespo. He was 6-0 with a 1.53 ERA in 12 starts for the Geneva Cubs his first season, striking out 81 in 76 2/3 innings. He played for the Charlotte Knights in 1991 and 1992, going 11-9 with a 3.73 ERA in 24 starts the former year and 0-2 with a 12.46 mark in 2 starts the latter. Going into 1992, he had been named the Cubs' #6 prospect by Baseball America, between Doug Glanville and Earl Cunningham.

Overall, he went 17-11 with a 3.33 ERA in 38 starts. In 230 innings, he allowed 209 hits and 104 walks (1.361 WHIP), while striking out 161 batters.
