Biographical Information[edit]

Teruaki Yoshikawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years

Yoshikawa helped his college win the 2003 All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series, and he was named the most valuable pitcher. He was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2003 NPB draft, but he went 1-2 with a 5.36 ERA in his first season. He had a 8.34 ERA in 25 appearances in 2005, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in most of his next three seasons; he only pitched 8 games combined with the big club. Yoshikawa had a 11.57 ERA in 10 games in 2010, then the BayStars traded him to the Softbank Hawks for Shotaro Ide. He had a 3.00 ERA in 7 games in 2010, then he notched 6 holds with a 2.41 ERA in 40 appearances in 2011. Yoshikawa also went 2-0 with a 3.48 ERA for the Criollos de Caguas in the winter. His ERA rose to 5.29 in 25 games in 2012, then the Hawks traded him back with Hitoshi Tamura and Yasushi Kamiuchi to the BayStars for Yuki Yoshimura, Shogo Yamamoto and Shintaro Ejiri. Yoshikawa was 2-2 with a 7.43 ERA in 2013, then he announced his retirement. He became the pitching coach for Nippon Bunri University in 2018.

Overall, Yoshikawa was 3-9 with a 5.97 ERA, struck out 141 and pitched 232 innings in 10 seasons in NPB.
