Biographical Information[edit]

Terry Hughes was the second player selected in the 1967 amateur draft, by the Chicago Cubs, and came to the majors in 1970. Primarily a third baseman, he played for three different teams in three years in the majors. In 1972 he hit .302 for the Wichita Aeros of the American Association.

Hit his only home run on June 29, 1974, for the the Boston Red Sox against the Cleveland Indians. Milt Wilcox was the pitcher. He spent the entire season with Boston that year, getting into 41 games, during which he hit .203.

In the minors he played for the Caldwell Cubs (1967), Greenville Red Sox (1968), Quincy Cubs (1968), San Antonio Missions (1968-1969), Tacoma Cubs (1970-1971), Wichita (1972), the Tulsa Oilers (1973 and 1976) and the Pawtucket Red Sox (1975).
