Biographical Information

When Taylor Rashi made his major league debut for the Arizona Diamondbacks on August 28, 2025, the team had already set a major league record as 15 different pitchers had recorded a save since the start of the season. He added to the mark by pitching the final three innings of a 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, giving up a pair of hits but no runs.

He was originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 23rd round of the 2019 amateur draft out of the University of California, Irvine, and pitched in their system until 2022, reaching AA. He was taken by the Diamondbacks in the minor league portion of the 2022 Rule V Draft and continued to fly under the radar for the next two seasons, even though he reached AAA briefly in 2024 with the Reno Aces of the Pacific Coast League, giving up 3 runs in 4 innings. He was having a good season with Reno when he was called up to Arizona in late August of 2025, as he was 4-2 with 3 saves and a 3.48 ERA in 40 games.
