Biographical Information

Takahiro Konno pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.

Konno was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the 2nd round of the 1988 NPB draft, and he went 2-6 with a 5.96 ERA in his first season. He was 6th in appearances in the Pacific League, between Seiichi Sato and Koji Mori. Konno struggled again in 1990 as his ERA was 6.92 in 28 games, and he improved to 5-2 with a 1.92 ERA in 1991. He was 6-9 with a 4.50 ERA in 1992, and the Marines traded him and Masashi Yokota to the Chunichi Dragons for Masaru Uno and Kiyoyuki Nagashima. However, his ERA was 6.75 in 6 relief outings in 1993, and he announced his retirement in 1994.

Overall, Konno was 15-18 with a 4.61 ERA, struck out 174 and pitched 261 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
