Biographical Information[edit]
Tadatoki Maeda played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.
Maeda was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 3rd round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he played 100 games with a .196/.263/.224 batting line in his rookie year as Kintetsu's starting shortstop. He struggled again in 2001 as his batting line was .182/.236/.259, then he recorded a .217/.234/.326 batting line in 2002. Maeda hit .221/.274/.265 in 2003, and he went 4-for-22 in 2004. He was assigned to the newly-founded Rakuten Golden Eagles after the Buffaloes merged with the Orix BlueWave, and he was 2-for-17 before the Golden Eagles traded him to the Hanshin Tigers for Yoshinori Okihara. Maeda only played three more game for the top team, and he announced his retirement in 2008. He later became the minor league fielding coach for the Softbank Hawks from 2012 to 2013, and he scouted for the Tigers. He signed Rito Kinoshita and Kyosuke Noguchi.
Overall, Maeda hit .194/.245/.252 with 100 hits and 2 homers in 9 seasons in NPB.
