Biographical Information[edit]
Tadami Nakatani was an outfielder in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Nakatani signed with the Hanshin Tigers as an undrafted free agency in 1983, and he stayed in the minors in his first three seasons. He went 0 for 5 with a walk and a run in 1987, his NPB debut. He was traded to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Yasuo Kubo during June of 1988 and was 0 for 6 in 1988. In 1989, he hit .274/.333/.387 in 46 games. In 1990, Nakatani improved to .304/.336/.438 in 123 plate appearances over 68 games as a good bench threat. He hit .341/.370/.409 in 46 plate appearances in 1991 and again was a fine pinch-hitter in 1992, batting .308/.377/.385 in 47 games. He fell to 3-for-16 with a double in 1993 and wrapped up with the Orix Blue Wave in 1994, going 0 for 4. After retirement, Nakatani ran a restaurant.
Overall, Nakatani batted .281/.324/.383 with 97 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
