Sunny Lagneau was on the French national team in the 1997 Intercontinental Cup; the 20-year-old allowed four hits, six walks and seven runs (six earned) in 2 2/3 IP; only Robin Roy had a higher ERA for France. Among the batters he faced in his two outings were future major leaguers Jason Tyner, Pat Burrell, Eric Munson, Chris Magruder, Bubba Crosby, Eric Valent, Josh Bard and Brian Roberts as well as frequent NPB All-Star Yoshinobu Takahashi. His French career was over by age 22, when he appeared for Jimmer's de Saint-Lô in the Division Elite; stats are unavailable for part of his career (as of 8/17/2025).
