Stan Boroski has been a coach, scout and player.
Boroski was picked by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 20th round of the 1981 amateur draft, one selection after Vince Coleman was taken. Stan hit .288/.356/.333 as the backup catcher in 1982 for the Pikeville Brewers. In 1983, he was only 6 for 82 with a double, 5 walks and 35 strikeouts with the Beloit Brewers. Milwaukee let him go. The Kansas City Royals signed him and made him into a pitcher.
Stan was 3-2 with four saves and a 4.38 ERA for the 1985 GCL Royals. He spent 1986 with the Fort Myers Royals, going 4-7 with a 4.07 ERA. He had a 4-3, 3.69 record for Fort Myers in 1987 when his playing career ended due to injury.
Boroski scouted for the Houston Astros from 1991-1993 then was a coach for them at several different levels. From 2003-2006, he was pitching coach of the Salem Avalanche, then he spent three years as pitching coach of the Corpus Christi Hooks. In 2010, he joined the Tampa Bay Rays as assistant to the pitching coach (Jim Hickey).
