Shinnosuke Shigenobu has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Shigenobu hit .333 with 39 steals and two Best Nine awards in his college career, and he was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 2nd round of the 2015 NPB draft. He hit .190/.256/.278 in 25 games in 2016, and he had a .157/.224/.214 batting line with 10 steals in 77 games as Yomiuri's main pinch-runner in 2017. Shigenobu then batted .281/.324/.419 with 5 triples in 2018, and he was 5th in triples in the Central League (tied with Ryosuke Hirata, Masayuki Kuwahara and Naomasa Yokawa). He collected 14 steals with a .266/.308/.373 batting line in 2019, and he was 8th in steals (tied with Takayoshi Noma, Ryutaro Umeno and Ryosuke Kikuchi. Shigenobu was 1-for-5 with 2 runs scored in the 2019 Nippon Series, but the Giants were swept by the Softbank Hawks.
The Chiba native hit .256/.302/.367 in 60 games in 2020, and he was 0-for-2 in the 2020 Nippon Series; the Giants were swept by the Hawks again. Shigenobu slumped to .218/.282/.321 in 2021, and he hit .216/.275/.243 in 77 games in 2022. He then went 8-for-51 with 10 steals in 2023, and he had a 1-for-15 record with 6 steals in 2024.
