Biographical Information

Catcher Shawn Schumacher played in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 1999 to 2001, peaking at Double-A.

He was drafted twice. Initially, he was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 18th round of the 1997 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He did sign after being taken by the Cardinals in the 8th round of the 1999 amateur draft.

His best season was his last, when he hit .264/.304/.337 with 4 home runs and 49 RBI in 109 games between the Potomac Cannons and New Haven Ravens. Overall, he hit .256/.301/.338 with 7 home runs and 77 RBI in 169 games.
