Serge Kaouane
Biographical Information[edit]
Serge Kaouane was on the French national team in the 1991 Intercontinental Cup, their first Intercontinental Cup. He split the catching with Emmanuel Dang Van. He got their first start and faced Spain's Gabriel Valarezo his first time up. He finished 1-for-11, his hit coming off the USSR's Leonid Korneev. He fielded .929 and had four passed balls in five games but threw out 4 of 11 who tried to steal. [1] The next year, he played for the Rouen Huskies but broke his cheekbone, nose and teeth when hit in the head by a ball in a play at the plate; there was concern he also would lose his eye. [2]
