Biographical Information[edit]

Sean Isaac played college ball at El Camino College and Vanguard University of Southern California. In his senior year at Vanguard Isaac averaged over 7 innings per outing. The Los Angeles Angels drafted Isaac in the 35th round of the 2016 Amateur Draft and he pitched in their minor league system from 2016-2018. His final two seasons were a roller coaster ride as the Angels moved him between the Low-A Burlington Bees and the AAA Salt Lake Bees with stops at High-A and AA added to the mix. Isaac's overall pitching record for his three years of work was 9-4 with a 4.34 ERA while appearing in 78 games (8 starts).

After his playing career ended, Isaac joined Beimel Elite Athletics as a pitching coordinator. He left this training facility job in the fall of 2021 to become the director of player development for the University of California, Santa Barbara. His stay with the Gauchos proved to be short-lived.

The Milwaukee Brewers hired Isaac in 2022 as the Nashville Sounds development coach. If you ever wondered what exactly a development coach does, the job posting for this position included to "advance the club’s use and understanding of the available technological and data advancements to improve player performance. The selected individual will manage the application and dissemination of collected information, working across the areas of player development, research and development, advance scouting and integrated sports performance.” (unable to relocate source online).

Isaac moved to the Boston Red Sox organization as a pitching coach for the Portland Sea Dogs in 2023-2025. His 2024 pitching staff led all Double-A teams in strikeouts (1,329) and were second in saves (40).
