Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Sean Godfrey played baseball at Ball State University and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration. In his final season, he garnered several awards, including 2014 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors. The Atlanta Braves drafted him in the 22nd round of the 2014 Amateur Draft. He played in the Braves chain from 2014-2016, reaching Double-A on two occasions. He spent his final two seasons (2017-2018) playing for the Schaumburg Boomers of the independent Frontier League.

After completing his playing career, Godfrey started his coaching career in the fall of 2018 at Indiana University Southeast as an assistant coach for the Grenadiers. He did not stay long as the Houston Astros hired him in 2019 to coach Tri-City Valley Cats hitters. Godfrey was scheduled to coach hitters for the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. He was the hitting coach for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in 2021.

Since late 2021, Godfrey has been employed in private business enterprises.[1]
