Biographical Information[edit]

Ryosuke Kishisato played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.

Kishisato was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 7th round of the 2013 NPB draft, and he hit .251/.291/.302 with 109 hits in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2014. He broke Tetsuto Yamada's minors record for most hits by a rookie straight from high school, and he was 2nd in hits in the Eastern League (9 behind Keiyoshi Aomatsu) and 5th in steals (tied with Tomo Otosaka and Hirohito Shimai). Kishisato debuted on October 2 against the Seibu Lions, and he collected 2 hits in 3 at-bats. He slumped to .217/.294/.264 in 2015 in the minors, and his batting line was .256/.298/.346 in 2016. He then hit .254/.291/.315 in 2017 in the minors, and he was 2-for-14 with the big club. He then represented Japan in the 2018 U-23 Baseball World Cup. He hit .188/.257/.281 with 3 steals in 3 tries; in the outfield, he had 8 putouts, one assist and no errors for the Silver Medalists. He went deep off Damon King of South Africa. Kishisato hit .229/.303/.282 in 76 games in the minors, but he failed to return to the big club and he announced his retirement.
