Biographical Information[edit]
Ryo Ishikawa has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ishikawa was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 8th round of the 2013 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first season. He was 6-for-28 in 2015, and he only played one game for the big club in the next two seasons. Ishikawa went 11-for-50 in 2018, and he hit .200/.221/.240 in 46 games in 2019 as Kohei Arihara's regular battery partner. He then had a 3-for-21 record in 2020, and he played 60 games with a .185/.214/.204 batting line as Nippon Ham's backup catcher behind Yushi Shimizu. Ishikawa had a 7-for-25 record in 2022, and the Fighters traded him to the Orix Buffaloes for Koki Saito. He still didn't get many chances, and he only had 19 at-bats combined in the next three seasons.
