Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Ryan Eigsti has a brother named Jake Eigsti who played in the New York Mets system.

Eigsti has a long association with the Kansas City Royals. The Royals selected him in the 15th round of the 2007 Amateur Draft and he played in their minor league system from 2007-2012. His final year also included stints in the Toronto Blue Jays organization and with the independent Southern Illinois Miners. In his six minor league seasons, Eigsti hit .211/.307/.318 while appearing in 319 games.

After a year away from professional baseball, Eigsti rejoined the Royals organization in 2014 as a coach with the AZL Royals. He may have started as a rehab coach[1]. A different source listed him as a pitching coach in 2015-2016. In 2017, the Royals promoted Eigsti to bullpen catcher for the major league Royals, a position he retained through 2021. Eigsti's responsibilities changed in 2022 when the Royals named him a major league rehab coach. He continued in this role through 2025.
