Biographical Information

Rusty Pendergrass has been a scout and college coach.

Pendergrass was head coach of Houston Baptist University from 1992-1997. He was a Houston Astros scout from 2000-2011, signing Hunter Pence, Troy Patton, Ruben Alaniz, Matt Albers, Ben Zobrist, Koby Clemens, Ryan Gebhardt, Ross Seaton and Steve Martin. When Houston let him go, he joined the Arizona Diamondbacks as a scout and signed Stryker Trahan. Pence and Zobrist were both taken by the Astros in the 2004 amateur draft on his recommendation.
