Biographical Information[edit]

Rob Marquez pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Marquez was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 12th round of the 1995 Amateur Draft, and he collected 21 saves with a 0.84 ERA for the Vermont Expos in 1995. He went 1-2 with a 3.66 ERA for the Delmarva Shorebirds in 1996, but he struggled with the West Palm Beach Expos as his ERA was 7.36 in 11 games. He improved to a 2.57 ERA in 21 games with 6 saves in West Plam Beach in 1997, and he also recorded a 2.95 ERA in 12 games for the Cape Fear Crocs. Marquez then went 5-4 with a 3.86 ERA for the Jupiter Hammerheads in 1998, and he also pitched 4 games for the Harrisburg Senators.

The Texan reached AAA in 1999, and his ERA was 4.88 in 18 games for the Ottawa Lynx. He also recorded a 4.56 ERA in 18 games in Harrisburg, and he pitched 15 2/3 shutout innings for the Hammerheads. Marquez had a 5.06 ERA in 53 relief outings in 2000, then he improved to a 2.97 ERA in 34 appearances in 2001. The Milwaukee Brewers signed him with a minor league contract in 2002, and he went 4-7 with 8 saves and a 3.82 ERA for the Indianapolis Indians. He stayed in Indianapolis in 2003, and he had a 3.99 ERA in 30 games. He had a 2.67 ERA with 9 saves in 2004 for the Somerset Patriots, then the La New Bears of Taiwan signed him. Marquez went 2-4 with a 2.87 ERA for them, and he returned to the Patriots. He had a 4.42 ERA in 52 appearances in 2005, and his ERA was 2.84 in 12 games in 2006.
