Biographical Information[edit]
Rob Flanders played for the USA national baseball team and in the minor leagues.
Flanders represented the USA in the 1969 Amateur World Series. The Detroit Tigers picked him in the 23rd round of the 1971 Amateur Draft, and he hit .229/.382/.294 in 68 games for the Batavia Trojans in his first season. He recorded a .238/.346/.308 batting line for the Clinton Pilots in 1972, and he went 2-2 with a 1.57 ERA on the mound. Flanders was a full-time pitcher in 1973, and he was 3-4 with a 4.38 ERA for the Pilots. Flanders also pitched 6 games for the AA Montgomery Rebels with a 3.18 ERA, and he announced his retirement. He then became a justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. [1]
