Biographical Information[edit]
Starting pitcher Reggie Dobie was drafted by the New York Mets in the 8th round of the 1983 January draft. He played in the minor leagues from 1983 to 1989, going 59-44 with a 3.56 ERA. He spent 1987 to 1989 at Triple-A, but never ascended to the majors.
He had a run of four straight double-digit win seasons from 1984 to 1987. Respectively, he went 10-9, 3.03 ERA, 12-5, 2.63, 13-7, 3.66 and 12-10, 4.36.
On November 20, 1988, he was traded to the Seattle Mariners for outfielder Chuck Carr.
