In December 2014, Ravelo was traded to the Oakland Athletics with infielder Marcus Semien, right-hander Chris Bassitt, catcher Josh Phegley and for Jeff Samardzija and Michael Ynoa. He was let go by the A's at the end of spring training in 2017 and signed with the St. Louis Cardinals a couple of weeks later. He reached the majors with the Cardinals in 2019.
