Biographical Information[edit]

Ramiro Mendoza pitched for Panama in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, starting against the Dominican national team. He tossed two scoreless innings against the potent lineup before allowing 5 runs in the 3rd and 4th, going on to take the loss. He helped Panama win Gold at the 2010 Central American Games, one of two ex-major leaguers n the staff (Davis Romero was the other). In spite of his advancing age and long retirement, he was back with Panama to assist the team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in November of 2012.
