Biographical information[edit]

Outfielder Ping-Hung Chi played for Taiwan in the 2005 Pony World Series, helping them to a title. He was timed at 3.9 seconds to first base in scouting trials. He signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in July 2009, the second Taiwan native to sign with the Bucs, following Chi-Hung Cheng. He made his pro debut with the GCL Pirates on June 22, 2010, going 0 for 3 with a walk, two strikeouts and a time caught stealing against the GCL Yankees. He was 2 for 12 with 6 whiffs in his first five games.
