Biographical Information[edit]
Phil Olson played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.
Olson was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 41st round of the 1992 Amateur Draft, but he didn't sign and went to college. He represented the USA in the 1994 Baseball World Cup. The New York Mets picked him in the 20th round of the 1995 Amateur Draft, and he was 6-2 with a 2.42 ERA in 1995 for the Kingsport Mets while pitching 2 innings for the GCL Mets. Olson went 7-6 with a 2.54 ERA for the Capital City Bombers in 1996, and he was 1-5 with a 4.32 ERA for the St. Lucie Mets. He pitched 47 games with a 3.30 ERA in St. Lucie in 1997, and he announced his retirement.
