Biographical Information[edit]
Pete Henning made an impressive professional debut as a 25-year-old with the Covington/Kansas City team of the Federal League in 1913, leading the new circuit in Wins, RA and SO/9. Henning remained with Kansas City for its two major league seasons in 1914 and 1915, making an equal number of starts and relief appearances in both seasons to post a 14-25 record and 3.83 ERA in 345 IP for his major league career. In his major league debut game on April 17, 1914, Henning pitched 13 innings to defeat the Chicago Chi-Feds, the first of five consecutive complete games to start that season, and the most innings pitched in a modern era major league debut.
