Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Paul Abbatinozzi was taken by the Chicago White Sox in the 32nd round of the 1988 amateur draft, a few picks ahead of pitcher Mo Sanford. He played for the GCL White Sox that year, slashing .253/.340/.398 with 1 home run, 18 RBI and 21 strikeouts in 29 games in his only pro experience. He was Flagler College's second player to be drafted by a major league team, following Rob Santo. He was elected to Flagler's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009. He later became a high school principal.

His son, James, played college ball from 2013 to 2015.
