Norio Ichimura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Ichimura pitched in the industrial leagues after college. He was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 3rd round of the 1982 NPB draft, and he was the oldest player ever to be selected in the NPB draft. He had a 3.10 ERA in 44 appearances in 1983, then his ERA was 4.30 in 27 games in 1984. Ichimura struggled in 1985 as his ERA rose to 5.14 in 17 games, and the Dragons traded him to the Seibu Lions for Yasutomo Suzuki. He was 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 1986, and he appeared in 1986 Nippon Series Game 2 and 3; he didn't retire a single batter in either appearance (allowing two hits). The Lions beat the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in 8 games. Ichimura recorded a 5.82 ERA in 27 relief outings in 1987, and he announced his retirement in 1988 after he had a 5.68 ERA in 11 appearances.
Overall, Ichimura was 5-2 with a 3.95 ERA, struck out 83 and pitched 150 1/3 innings over 163 games as a lefty specialist in 6 seasons in NPB.
