Biographical Information[edit]

Nick Travieso was a 2012 first-rounder.

Travieso fanned 8 but walked 8 in 6 innings for the junior Team USA in 2011, allowing 2 hits and no walks in 5 relief outings. The US won the junior Pan American Gold Medal. Timed as high as 99 mph in high school, usually in the mid-90s, he was taken by the Cincinnati Reds with the 14th pick of the 2012 amateur draft. He was the second high school hurler taken, after Max Fried. He soon signed for a $2 million bonus.
