Biographical Information[edit]
Nguyễn Ngọc Lanh has been on the Vietnamese national team.
He debuted in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games. In their opener, he started at third base, hitting cleanup. He struck out against Thailand's Kamolphan Kanjanavisut then was replaced by Nguyen Duc Long in a blowout loss. He was 0-for-6 with a HBP for the Games, fielding .875. He also pitched twice; he replaced Duong Nam Anh in the first inning versus Laos after the first 7 batters reached. He calmed things down, allowing 7 hits, a walk and 5 runs (one earned) over the next 5 innings, striking out one (To Tava). He lost to Joshua Pineda of the Gold Medal-winning Philippines national team but again outpitched his staffmates that day. He had a 8.18 ERA for the Games, second to Dang Dinh Bao among Vietnam's qualifiers and his 11 IP were second on the staff as well, one behind Bao. He tied Oliver Dunn and John Matanguihan for 6th in the Games in assists (12), was 8th in IP (between Muhammad Arrifqi Zavianda and Hadi Nur Muhammad), tied Muhammad for 2nd in hits allowed (19, 2 behind Mung Chuevakham), tied for the most runs allowed (19, even with Aiman Faqih, Dang and Phạm Mạnh Chiến) and tied for 7th in earned runs (10, even with Chuevakham and Nanda Dwi Saputra).
