The University of New Haven was known as New Haven College until 1970. The baseball program was founded and coached by Frank Vieira from 1963-2006. He was replaced by Raphael Cerrato starting in 2007. On May 6, 2025, University of New Haven accepted the Northeast Conference's initation to join and move up to NCAA Division I.
