Biographical Information[edit]
Naoya Emura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years. His brother Masaya Emura also played in NPB.
Emura was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 5th round of the 2010 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first two seasons. He got some chances when catcher Tomoya Satozaki was injured in 2013, and he played 64 games with a .171/.197/.188 batting line. Emura then went 11-for-53 in 2014, and he was hitless in 6 at-bats in 2015. He had a 3-for-23 record in 2016, and he played 13 games with only one hit in 6 at-bats in 2017. Emura was 1-for-16 in 35 games in 2018, then he collected 3 hits in 31 at-bats in 2019. He only had 21 more at-bats with the top team, and he announced his retirement in 2023. He was Chiba Lotte's minor league battery coach in 2024, and he coached their big club in 2025.
Overall, Emura hit .147/.188/.172 with 40 hits in 10 seasons in NPB.
