Biographical Information

Naoki Shirane was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2011 NPB draft, but he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues before the Hawks released him in 2015. The Yokohama BayStars picked him up, and he hit .269/.326/.390 in 120 games in the minors in 2016. Shirane led the Eastern League with 118 hits, and he was 4th in RBI (between Ryuzo Hijii and Keiyo Aomatsu). He was 0-for-4 with the top team that season, and he went 3-for-13 in 2017. Shirane didn't reach the big club in 2018, and he announced his retirement.
