Biographical Information

Ryuzo Hijii was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the first round of the development phase in the 2013 NPB draft, and he was 2-for-14 in 2015. He was hitless in 9 at-bats in 2016, and he went 5-for-21 in 2017. Hijii didn't reach the big club in 2018, and he announced his retirement. He hit for a cycle on September 6 against the Yakult Swallows, and he was the 9th player of the Eastern League to accomplish it.
